I was first exposed to financial markets when I started reading the stock quotes out of the newspaper to my businessman grandfather, who was legally blind, when I was about ten. I remember Papa always told me: “Buy Triple A” (the best stocks). Later, I studied economics at both Vassar College and Columbia University, where I became intrigued by the link between psychology and economic theory. “Battle-Tested”I began testing my stock investing technique in the early 1990’s, when I used my own funds to test the validity of my investment theory. Using my method, I earned excellent returns in both mutual funds and individual stocks, which I describe in detail in my book, A Way to Wealth—The Art of Investing in Common Stocks. In fact, many of my investments multiplied several times, up to ten times in value since my initial investment. Far From the Investing CrowdI’m not a Wall Street insider. I’m a member of the investing public, and I love the market. I have made it my life’s work to understand how to invest in stocks and mutual funds successfully over the long haul. I am conservative, but not conventional in my approach to building wealth and a secure financial future. It Can Work, If You Work ItBenjamin Franklin was right when he said, “Time is money.” And it takes time to make money. I believe in investing for the long haul. My hope is that you will benefit from my experience and that this book will become a valuable and trusted companion along your own investing journey, whether you are a new investor, or experienced in the ways of the market. It takes less than an hour to read but can save you countless time and money over a lifetime. That is, if you’re wise enough to follow my investing advice. May your investments prosper and may you gain the financial freedom in the coming years that I have. Good luck on your way to wealth!
